Beginnings

I sit here watching southpark in my cheesy pjs, contemplating how to begin this thing.  We all create blogs hoping people will read, hoping others will care.  That is my aim as well- however, to be realistic I am writing to a party of one.  At the most, I hope others can take heart in my struggles and draw connections with me as I work through various points in life.  At the least- this will be one hell of a journal/record for me to have kept.

In an attempt to not over-extend myself, this blog will document my struggles with being an introvert in the workplace, insights that come from being a clinical social worker, farming practices/sustainability, frugality/brainstorming outside the box to create secondary income to end my practice as a clinical social worker due to extreme burnout, and whatever the hell else I feel is awesome (so much for not over-extending).

With that in mind- here is what we are working with.

Currently 58,000 in student loan debt that needs to be paid before having children.
Living on a small one acre "farm" in the middle of Urban Phoenix.
2 horses (very old and VERY bratty), 8 chickens, 1 goat, 2 dogs, 1 cat.

How can these aspects relate/feed off of one another?  Can I actually combine passion with having income potential?

One thought that I carried out today was to contact Whole Foods regarding growing AWESOME, ORGANIC, ROBOT CHICKENS.  I sent them an email to see what their minimum buying amount would be (I believe I can carry/raise ethically around 50 without going batshit crazy). As with a lot that occurs in my mind- this will most likely not pan out.  However, watch me spin my wheels!

This is heavy shit.
Let me close with obligatory cute pictures.

These are the dogs- Teddy and Rupert
